Android Update: New Data Privacy Policy and Opt-In for Push-Services

Android Update: New Data Privacy Policy and Opt-In for Push-Services

Due to a new app publishing policy from Google, we have released a new version of the Anveo Mobile App on April 12, 2021. Starting with release version 668, the app now displays a Privacy Policy notice at the very bottom of the login screen:

This notice refers to the revised version of the Privacy Policy. A new requirement is the need for explicit consent for the use of push messages. This is required because push messages can only be sent if a unique device ID is sent to our push service to identify the device. This falls under the classification of personal data and consent for this must be explicitly requested in advance according to the GDPR.

Therefore, during a first installation and after an app update of a previous version, a window for refusal (default) or explicit consent to these services will appear. It is not possible to automatically consent to these company-wide. Therefore, please inform your users immediately that consent is required for push services.

If a user wants to change the setting later, they can do so in the Info menu of the Anveo Mobile App. This change only applies to the Anveo Mobile App version for Android.
